Same-Day Dental Crowns

Placing a dental crown usually requires only one visit to our office. Our dentist will remove the decay from the tooth, shape the tooth, scan the area, design the crown and mill the crown on the same day. Please keep in mind that not all teeth can have a same-day dental crown. We will determine if your crown can be placed in one day or if two visits are required.

Dental crowns, as well as dental bridges, are very reliable solutions for major dental issues caused by disease, natural wear and tear, or accidents. When creating the restorations to make these repairs, we use either porcelain or porcelain fused to metal. If an accident occurs that results in lost or damaged teeth, or if old dental fillings fail, dental crowns or dental bridges can be a long-term solution.

Many people have discomfort from back teeth with dental fillings. This is usually because of hairline cracks in the chewing surfaces of the teeth. Having dental crowns placed on these teeth can relieve discomfort and restore function. Older fillings in the front teeth can weaken the teeth or negatively affect their appearance. Porcelain crowns and bridges may be of help in cases where porcelain veneers are insufficient. If a tooth has had root canal therapy, dental crowns can protect the tooth from breakage.
